- Raw sewage is equalized (1) before grinding (2) and transfer (3).
- Upon entering the first smaller tank, solids naturally settle under light pressure.
- The effluent is removed from the smaller tank through the top (4).
- Alum and/or other chemicals become added at (5).
- The clarified effluent exits at (6) to environment or to a decoupling tank prior to further treatment.
- Sludge is removed at (7) and (8) to a sludge tank for dewatering and, when required, further treatment such as, among many options, sterilization (9).
